Another year passed by, lots of things happened and here I am..still here. I feel so sad about the retrogression in USA. Just wondering how long will I stay here. I am looking for other place to live and work. Before I cannot imagine myself browsing/surfing the net for long hours, now I am doing it. I am looking for alternative place while waiting for my american nursing dream. Canada? hmmmmnnn...nice place but I have to go through licensure exam again. Australia? nice place but another licensure exam plus bridging course.
Any suggestion?

Kumasta 'Di,
What do you mean by retrogression in the USA? Is the progress on your boards & the like falling behind? Is the immigration process more difficult than you initially thought? Or, do you think the nation is falling apart?
Right now we are in the middle of a presidential election silliness which tends to cause our news services to inflate bad news.
If you can live within your means, can save and wait to attain your goals, work hard then now is a GREAT time to come.
Also, our population is getting older and the baby boomers are now retiring and getting to an age where they demand more medical services. Medical service people are in demand and that demand is going to continue to rise until the baby boom is gone.
Also with respect to Canada my wife's sister lives there and they pay a whole lot of taxes and I would expect Australia to be similar in that respect.
Don't be under any illusions that Canada or Oz will serve as temporary until you get into the US, I have seen a large number of people do that and stay put. One exception is our niece & her husband who were in the UK and then picked up and moved to Chicago, they much prefer Chicago (taxes and despite reputations they encountered a fair amount of open racism in the UK they don't see in Chicago).
come. no time like the present.
